COVID-19
We were so grateful to have been able to survive the pandemic in good health physically, and in what just about feels like reasonable shape mentally and financially!!!
2020 was the most roller-coastery roller coaster of a year. We closed our doors like everyone else in March, with the fullest ever booking diary for any year in our history. Then we got to re-open. Then there was the “rule of six”. Then we shut again, opened again and shut again. Now we are open again with what feels like normal service being resumed – and again, the fullest ever booking schedule for the rest of 2022.
We have new cleaning protocols in place now that we are able to open (using the “Good to Go” guidelines developed with British Hospitality Association and Professional Association of Self Caterers) to help minimise risk and keep guests safe. We are asking all parties to ensure they stay safe and are gathering and travelling within guidance, and testing in advance of arrival so that nobody brings Covid onto the estate. Some hosts will be bringing a differently made-up group to that which they had originally planned, as some people have to stay away.
Compliance with restrictions is the responsibility of the Hirer rather than the House owner when we are open – we are only open because we are allowed to be.
Let’s hope we can all get used to a new normal, as we try to both minimise the spread of and live with the effects of this virus.
