We have won several “Property of the Year” awards including for all three of our big properties in different years from Olivers Travels. We were inspected nine times by Visit Scotland assessors over the years, and our score improved every single time. We ended up ranked right at the very, very top of their 4 star rating for excellence. That awards scheme is now at an end, but we have continued to get top marks from customers and we seek feedback and scoring from every single group of visitors across a set of up to14 criteria, to ensure we are still meeting or exceeding guest expectations.
Over 90% of Ormidale guests give us 5 out of 5, suggesting we offer exceptional value for money, exceptional facilities, and exceptional service. Most want to come back, and would recommend us to others. The remark we hear most often both in person and in reviews is that the websites don’t do the properties justice.

“The whole family loved Ormidale House and had the best time celebrating among the extended family across the generations. We couldn't fault the place on any way. The website doesn't prepare you for the sheer size and beauty of the house and I'm glad we found it.

Our favourite thing is hard to say but we loved the size of the house with the six reception rooms which allowed us to be comfortably together or apart. We loved exploring the grounds and the beautiful local area – all the views are breath-taking. Another shout out is to the helpful owner and friendly estate management team who looked after us so nicely.„

“We have holidayed in big houses all over the UK for the last two decades. Ormidale House is now top of the chart and everyone’s favourite. Such a comfortable house to be in, so well-equipped, with so many thoughtful touches. We loved the fact that there are so many beautiful, quirky things in the house – the old type-writers, sewing machines, victorian knife sharpeners, etc – but that there is nothing really delicate and breakable. The billiard room with all the sports memorabilia was such fun to explore, the youngsters loved the chaos of the playroom with the world’s biggest dolls house and army of action-men. Sauna and hot-tub got lots of use. The grounds and the immediate area are just beautiful. All in all amazing value for what you offer, and with a web-site that refreshingly under-sells the place. We will be back!„

PERFECTION

“What can I say! We spent the weekend here for my husband 60th birthday and it was perfect. It is so well equipped and the linen in the bedrooms is luxurious. The photographs do not do this place justice! It is far bigger than it looks and all the quirky touches with antiques etc make it sensational. We were a group from 73 years young to 4 and whilst the weather wasnt too kind and we didnt use the football pitch or outdoor amenities no-one got bored. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. The housekeepers and owner were so helpful and welcoming. We particularly enjoyed the large drawing room with the log fire and piano where our guitar and piano playing family kept us entertained. The billiard room and TV kids TV room was well used. Despite the size of the house it is toasty warm and the equipment in the kitchen is plentiful. The only thing we didnt have was a hairdryer. The furniture is antique and in keeping with this beautiful house. There is absolutely nothing I can say to improve on this house. We had the most memorable weekend and will talk about it forever. Very many thanks for allowing us to share this wonderful house which is steeped in history.We also used the catering available and the food was delicious and plentiful.„

“We love what you've done to the house. It's stylish and elegant, but it couldn't be more comfortable. We had fifteen children here, and they all had a ball. Two of our party had a "we don't do self-catering" attitude when we were discussing the party to start with. Now they are saying "we'll do self-catering, if it's like that." Better than any hotel we've stayed in. Ormidale is a very special place.„
